Corner wardrobe that uses a dead corner in Leatherhead

3D render

This bedroom had two walls of usable space meeting in a corner that had always been wasted behind a chest of drawers.

What we built

  • A corner unit with a diagonal door, so the corner opens straight towards the room and everything inside can be reached.
  • Hanging in the corner, where the depth works well for long items.
  • Shelves above and beside the rail for folded clothes.

The diagonal double door gives a wide opening into what would otherwise be a deep, dark corner, and leaves both walls beside it free for a chest of drawers or a run of wardrobes later.

The owners gained storage in a spot that used to hold nothing but dust.

Sample project on the Closetforge demo site. The pictures are 3D renders of the design, not photographs of a fitted wardrobe.

The design and the build

This is the design we drew for this job. Open it in 3D, turn it around, and start your own from it.

Questions about this project

Why a diagonal door?
It opens straight towards the room, so the whole corner is easy to reach.
Can runs be added either side later?
Yes. A corner unit is designed to have wardrobe runs butted against either side.
