3D render

The parents wanted a wardrobe their child could use on their own now and still use as a teenager.

What we built

  • Painted shaker doors in a soft duck-egg blue, with round knobs small hands can grip. We chose knobs over push-to-open, because children tend to lean on doors and pop them open.
  • A lower hanging rail the child can reach today, with room to raise it later.
  • Adjustable shelves on drilled supports, so the layout can move as they grow.
  • A laundry basket at the bottom, so clothes have somewhere to go besides the floor.

The body is a light board, so the inside stays bright and easy to see into. The painted fronts suit the room now and can be repainted if tastes change.

Sample project on the Closetforge demo site. The pictures are 3D renders of the design, not photographs of a fitted wardrobe.

The design and the build

This is the design we drew for this job. Open it in 3D, turn it around, and start your own from it.

Questions about this project

Can the hanging rail be raised later?
Yes. The section is tall enough to move the rail up as the child grows.
Why knobs rather than push-to-open?
Children lean on doors and open push-to-open fronts by accident, so knobs are the safer choice.
